Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

Milton Keynes 10k - Happy happy happy! Okay so the time isn't quick and its not a PB, but it is the second fastest 10k I've done. And, my aim was sub 70mins which I've done, off the back of a 5 week lay off due to injury, having to downgrade to 10k from half marathon and even then I wasnt sure I would make it to the start line. The good thing about this run was that I stuck to the plan, started off at my own slow pace, had no more than about 5 people behind me, but as always most people had gone off too fast and I spent the whole race overtaking people. So much better than going off too fast and spending the whole race being overtaken. My oother aim was too run the whole way which I did, even when I saw the big hill at the end there was no way I was stopping to walk, and when I saw the 500m sign I had plenty of running left in my legs for a fast (for me) finish. Big smiles all round. Feeling confident that with some more sonsistant training in my legs I should be back to my PB speed for Oxford Town and Gown in May, and then onwards towards a half marathon. Lovely course today, really showed Milton Keynes at its best with all the parks, village houses and canal path, beautiful route an exceptional organisation, in't even have to queue for the toilets! Nice to get a medal and Dad ran a very good half in 2.37 as part of his preparation for London. All in all a good day! Forgot to mention....it was bloody freezing and snowing, turned up the final hill and freezing wind blowing right at us, not the best conditions!
