Notes & Comments

Nos Galan Elite 5k, Mountain Ash: despite feeling absolutely crap all day due to a heavy cold, braved the elements and went for it. Weather surprisingly mild, felt a bit over dressed with two layers. Cracking field, fewest old duffers I have seen in this race. Got off to a flier, probably too fast, paid for it later, though still finished in a very respectable time for me.

....And so ends another year’s running, so what were the personal highs and lows? Well, for me, undoubtedly the high point was the Berkeley 10k last May when I blitzed my pb and walked off with the V50 prize during a purple patch. Don’t know how, but I did it. Can’t see me bettering that ever again. The low point was the cock-up over the race distance at the Cardiff Bay 5 miler that robbed so many runners of a pb on that day. Nevermind, sure the organisers will get it right and give us all something to aim for in 2013. Happy New Year all and here’s to good running....starting tomorrow...maybe!
