Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Ware xc race - part of the Saffron Striders league races. What a toughie that was today. Thought Id be fine in my new stretchy shoelaces but they were rubbish!! Didnt get the best start - its always a bundle at that race as it soon goes into a v narrow bit with a ditch full of water. Anyway, wasnt too bad once I got past there until I came across the first v v muddy and recently ploughed field! Got half way along and my shoes were starting to feel v loose. Then I lost a shoe and was stuck in the mud! Eventually managed to get sorted, in the meantime the whole world seemed to be overtaking me!

I then went from 7th lady to 2nd lady in the space of a mile or so - I was sooo determined to fight back! There was one really steep, v ploughed up field and my folks were standing at the bottom of that one and said after that most people seemed to be walking up it but no, not me! I had to run it as much as I could as I was so behind from the shoe incident!

Anyway, it was good fun, I think!! Cant be too disappointed with 2nd in the circumstances.

Shoes have now been washed throughly and laces discarded in disgust!! need to order another pair of normal ones now! Still lovely day for it! Striders Men did really well and were 1st again, ladies were 3rd again but we are still winning overall at the moment!

Time and distance are approx as forgot to stop my Garmin!!
