Despite it being perfect conditions (clear/mild) the lighting along the seafront prom weren't working so the first half mile (and final half mile) were pretty much in complete darkness even with the valiant attempts of many with torches to light up the route. Further on along the prom the prom was covered sporadically with deep sand and even though you could now see, the going was extreamly tough and I figured it not worth twisting my ankle/back so didn't push the pace ending up with a PW time
