Notes & Comments

Brussels Marathon. I think the distance is out due to the underpasses.

An amazing run considering the training we did was based around doing the half only to decide on the day of the expo to give the full mara a whirl.

The start was through the city and there was one moment which offered a staggering view of the city. Then into a park with the sunlight bursting through the trees and a mist rising as it hit the wet streets. I hope someone has captured that with photos.

Felt fine until the halfway split and a huge hill to climb which went on forever. A run around a park later and we were back running for home.

One final unpleasant hill (13 minute mile anyone) and we were into the final 3-4k which was flat to downhill ending on a cobbled street to the first bit of crowd we had seen for 26 miles.

Almost spot on 5 hours for the garmin 26.2 too. I still cant quite believe me and KK managed to run so well. Ok so we finished about 12th from last but inside the opening 2 miles there were only 2 runners behind us and a lot of runner were eliminated.
