Notes & Comments

Macclesfield Half Marathon. Started with nearly 2 laps of the running track which was quite slow because of number of people there (about 700 I reckon). Then onto a 3 mile loop of Macclesfield which let the legs open up. Heading out to Prestbury was fine and mostly downhill, but leaving there was all uphill for about 2miles. I got up it ok, but it took most of my energy. There was another sharp hill at mile 8 where I had to walk for a minute, then 2 miles of downhill before another mile and a half of ascent. Although it wasn't too steep, I was low on energy and only picked up after the water station at 11.5 miles. Then I was able to run progressively faster all the way to the finish. Happy with time (which was from the watch as it wasn't a chip race) given the hills.
