Met heaps of old faces, bit of a reminder of when we did this a lot. Bit daunting when we were in the last 3 from the word go and within a mile alomst everyone was out of sight.
Soldiered on and was caught by Jigs at mile 4 who ran with us for a mile chatting away like he was on a Sunday jog while we were flat out trying to keep up.
Soon on our own again and finally began hauling in a couple of runners who we eventually passed shortly after the brutal mile 9 hill.
After that the rest of the run was littered with dead squirrells who were in various stages of decomposition, past the final drinks station which had run out of water (inexcusable in my opinion especially given the first one had loads left over) and eventually over the line. I think we beat either 5 or 6 home and fairly sure i was the last male senior. Wasnt expecting much else really.
5 minutes faster than we were anticiapting so now the target is to continue the training for the rest of this month and then run a 2:20 at Robin Hood after doing a 3 mile run beforehand.
