Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

KINGSBURY WATER PARK 12K. A smashing evening out and a nostalgia trip. Recognised plenty of this race from the 10k we used to do. Ran the first km or so with Des having a little natter until he gradually started to pull in front. Then I just settled into my race. Didn't go 100% due to 2 hard sessions already in the last week, and tummy was a bit uncomfortable, but overall very pleased with my run in this muddy mudbath. I felt I was strong in the second half compared to the other runners around me, and this would surely be due to the amount of fell running I do. Although the terrain was taking it's toll, it seemed to be taking a toll more on the others and I overtook quite a few runners in the last few miles. Got into a race with a Hatton Dart lass towards the end who I overtook less than half a mile from the end. It was fantastic training towards strong finishing. I soooo didn't want her to pip me to the post in front of Mike and Sarah, so I really dug in and made a big effort to hold her off. Great stuff, a sprint finish and certainly more effort than I would normally make. After celebrated at the Dog & D with friends and family, then had a curry with Mike and Sarah washed down with lots of free wine and whisky! Top stuff :)
Considering almost all club runners, really pleased with positions F35+ 4/13, F 9/40, Overall 64/104
