Edinburgh Marathon - Went into this with a good solid 16 week training plan complete so confidence was high before race day of my 3:20 target. Weather warming up before race had me a little worried with just about all my training in cold weather conditions. I decided to take a gamble and set off at a faster pace than I had originally planned. So glad I did this as it was fairly comfortable bar the last few miles which the heat got the better of me a bit. I finished the marathon in 3 hours 11 minutes and 39 seconds. Not only gaining me a new personal best time by 18 minutes, but also well under my sub 3:20 target. Weather was very warm with little breeze now and again. Organization of this event was excellent this year. Great medal and t-shirt. Support was unreal. A great race, a great weekend!
