Reeled in the young local after about a mile then led to the finish closely followed for most of it by 2008 winner and the guy who pipped me to 2nd last year Sean Cotter. The challenging mixture of monstor hills tarmac and muddy trails was added to by the fierce headwind as you came off the hill for the last couple of miles. Delighted to win after 5 years of trying, my family history is tied to this area and this race is probably the closest I'll get to leaving a mark. Still not back my pre marathon best yet but its still only been 30 days including a weeks injury and i've had a bit of luck and done enough to win Langholm and my local race a Neilston, 2 of this years targets.
