It was the Radcliffe Multi-Terrain 10K today, which I sneaked out of Church early to attend. I met Riggsy outside and he drove us there. After a night in Fanny's last night it was hardly the ideal preparation, but I didn't really hold out much hope of a decent run given the horror stories I had heard about the course from Phil Holden and Riggsy's photographer mate from Bolton United. There was a great turn out from Burnden and indeed other local clubs and it really felt like a traditional northern community run. Although from Radcliffe the course took me on a route I was largely unfamiliar with. It was pretty tough with climbs and narrow canal paths. The biggest excitement on my part was however reserved for the deer which came galloping across the woods. A deer in Radcliffe! Whatever next? I had pretty poor race, but did enjoy showing Riggsy my sub three minute K pace at the end!
