Notes & Comments

Greater Manchester Marathon. My first attempt at the big one. Weather was terrible from beginning to end - constant heavy rain, very cold and windy. Set off and steadily settled into the pace I'd been training at. Tiredness and bad weather started to take it's toll on runners at about 16-17 miles. I knew my training would get me through this and I started to feel stronger in last few miles. Sarah pulled alongside me about mile 24 and we hoofed it to the finish. Then I crossed the line and my legs seized up for the next 12 hours! Was cautiously hoping for 4:15 so very happy with my time. Soaking wet kit, puddles, mud, rain, wind and freezing all the way. Proud to say I ran it!
