Notes & Comments

This is the second time of doing this and hold a PW for 1/2 maras on this course.

Well it was a little bit hot, in fact I thought about putting a scewer in me so that I could roast as I ran........

Was only treating this as a trg run as I have already got 2nd place in our Multi Terrain Champs with no chance of getting first or being caught.

Also with the week I have had and Halstead Marathon 3 weeks ago, this would be my first long run back.

Basically got to 3 miles and was already suffering in the heat, by the time I had got to 9 miles I was in agony in the fields which were rock hard and ankle breaking, took a good fall as well at 9m, bit dazed so sat on grounfd for a few minutes to gather myself.

Onwards and upwards to a mile long gradient, just what I did not need, then the long run in for home where I actually felt good for the first time in the race.

But really struggled overall and crossed the line in 82nd from about 300 / 350 in a disappointing 1:46:25, not quite the PW of 3 years ago (but only by 20 secs)

Was in tatters afterwards - reckon a bit of heat exhaustion as was totally knackered.

But Im back with a long run in the back, I wouldnt call it a race more of a running BBQ....... Well done as well....
