Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The Woodlands Marathon

0-2 - 11:58 - 5:59
2-5 - 18:43 - 6:14
5-8 - 18:35 - 6:12
8-11 - 18:21 - 6:07
11-14 - 18:49 - 6:16
14-17 - 18:55 - 6:18
17-20 - 19:17 - 6:26
20-23 - 19:18 - 6:26
23-26.2 - 21:12 - 6:35

Started well and was everything was good up to 17. Found maintaining pace tricky 17 to 23, partly due to fatigue, but also due to overtaking lots of half marathon runners which a) meant some weaving but more significantly b) made pace perception difficult.

From 24 was still on schedule but got a bit crampy so didn't push too hard to make sure I didn't blow up. But, misjudged how fast I needed to finish and/or how early to push it, plus got blocked by the ever increasing number of 1/2ers.With a clear run I may have nibbled under 2:45, but should have been able to do it despite this - the misjudged 24 to 25.5 cost me.

But, it was a PB, and the cash for 5th was nice. And given the fact I didn't feel in top nick after the poor finish to February, it wasn't a bad result - it just wasn't great.
