FRC Mells Scenic 7. Super route with more off-road terrain than in previous years. On the back of last week's good result, I thought I'd start at the front and stick with it for a mile before deciding if I could keep it up or hold back a little. First mile was quite quick, but I felt good, and was behind the same guy who finished ahead of me at KAT. When he slowed up on the hill out of Great Elm I wasn't going to stick behind him and pushed past. Didn't look back until a mile out, focussing on my perfomance and posture rahter than anybody else's, but certain I'd hear him close me down. But the footsteps never came. Glanced back crossing the field before the drop down to the church to see I was completely alone. Next guy up was too far to see let alone catch, so very pleased indeed with 5th overall and 3rd SM.
