The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Hoped to beat my PB tonight and g sub 13-30. Didn't feel that with it this evening, so was actually a bit surprised to equal my PB and run 13-39 - the very same time I ran on this course last time I raced here a few weeks ago.
From the gun, I ran a positive race, but was behind schedule as I went through the first mile in 6-54. Had hoped for 6-44. At this point I wondered what the second mile held in store.
It was encouraging that I managed to speed up in the second mile and yet again I caught the young lady from Hercules in the finishing straight, although this time I took 4 seconds out of her as I was going like a rocket. That said, I crossed the line feeling as though I had more to give.
Also, I had somebody pass me tonight. I didn't like that. So I ran after him and passed him and left him behind.
Tiny bit disappointed with this run, but also encouraged by equalling my PB when I really wasn't feeling that good tonight.
My training diary for the last few years shows dips in form where I hold good form for 6 weeks and have 2 weeks bad form. I think I'm in that dip right now. That's why I'm not that depressed at not beating my PB tonight.
I would consider this a better run than the other 13-39, but I took far more satisfaction from the other run as I knew I had performed to the best of my ability that night, where I know tonight that things didn't work out as I had planned.
One weird mid-race incident that I've never seen before was this: With half a mile to go, I was with 2 runners, pushing hard to the finish. All of a sudden a bunch of around 10, what I assume were elite athletes out for an easy training run, came literally jogging past us, chatting, joking, shouting at each other. They were running about 6-15 pace I reckon. That was quite distracting I must admit. I was flogging myself and these guys came past me as if they weren't even trying.
