Tried to take it steadier in the 1st half as the 2nd half always seems tougher, not just because its the 2nd half of the race but also because it seems to contain more (gentle) climbs than the 1st half, especially between 8 and 9K. Went through 5K in 19:46 and gradually faded as the sun came out more often and the gentle climbs became more frequent. Turned the corner into the finishing straight and noted that the clock was already displaying 40:xx, ah well at least it was a course best, try again another time...
