The North Face Endurance Challenge (Washington DC) Billed as a half marathon although 13.65 on GPS. First trail race. Out and back course, single track run. Good fun course, pretty twisty with the occasional log to negotiate. O the return on the return had to squeeze past other runners still running out. Had a steep vertical climb about Mile 3, and the same hill on the return (approx mile 10). Hill was tough had to walk part of it. River crossing at about mile 6. Wore wrong socks - got heavy after river and never dried. Got too blisters, one of mid sole - left foot. One under right big toe. Had three energy gels - one at about Mile 5-6, one at about mile 10 and one at about mile 11. Felt pretty comfortable through most of course except around the hill.
