Garmin died ater 6 hours, and won't import so only manually got the splits up to that point.
A great day out - flat-ish for the first 8 miles, then up for about 6, up and down to the half way point and then mainly gentle down hill for the remaining 25 miles... My first 50 miler, and first long ultra that I enjoyed. Nutrition was far better than previously (gel or choc bar every half hour, flat coke and Soreen at 20, 30 and 40 mile points). And a great mix of tunes on the iPod to keep the spirits up as the tiredness grew.
Whereas at Northampton 45 I was slowing badly and continually being overtaken in the second half, here I seemed to be holding the pace (there, or thereabouts) using my now patented "run three tracks, walk one" method. Haven't got all the splits, but I must have overtaken about 10-15 people in the second half and don't recall anyone going past me.
Weather was tough (showers, then really heavy showers with some hail, with the sun coming out for the last few hours), but meant we had dried out by the end!
