The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Been waiting for a long time to make this post and its happened and I completed the 2011 Edinburgh Marathon in 3 hours 28 minutes and 46 seconds. This gained me my sub 3:30 target and a personal best time of a whopping 27 minutes! Ran and paced the race well. Set off at a steady and consistent marathon pace. Understandibly and expectedly I slowed mile 19 onwards due to a strong westerly headwind that I was pressing against back to the finish. This was expected as decided to maintain pace at halfway point rather than the planned pick up. Conditions were ok to start, the odd scattered shower and fairly cool. Later into the race winds picked up and got quite gusty making the rain showers feel heavy. Even ran through a brief hail shower. Temperature wise this was an ideal 13oC Heres to the next Marathon!
