Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

FLEETWOOD 10. LONG RUN PART 1. And so to the 2nd 10 miler of the weekend. Didn't mind this one though, as it wasn't a race - I would just have a few hundred training partners. Weather much better than Fridays, still warm and sunny but a lovely sea-breeze, and NO HILLS. Almost ideal. My intention was to run LSR pace, but when I saw how small the field was, I worried I'd be last. I decided to do LSR and then run marathon pace for the last 3 miles, as I thought it would be great training, and good fun passing people. It took me a mile to slow down to LSR pace, but it was great. Easy running along the coast, still overtook 1 or 2 people that had started too fast. Went through half way in 48.5 mins (predicted finish time 1.37). Thought I'd pick it up just a bit for a couple of miles, and get to the back of a group I could see ahead. Then it was the 3 miles at PMP. Lovely stuff - just as we turned the corner for the 3 miles back to the finish. Found it easy to attain pace and enjoyed going past people. Decided to open up for the last mile and finished in 1.33.37, just 3 seconds slower than my hard effort at Caldervale. Dazz looked at the clock as the race compere announced my finish, "What happened to 1.40?" he said. To put things into perspective though, the lead runner was 10 minutes quicker than at C'vale. 9.14, 9.49, 9.47, 9.47, 9.46, 9.35, 9.22, 9.04, 8.57, 8.34. (Overall 88/117, F20/32, F40 11/13)
9.14 9.49 9.47 9.47 9.46 9.35 9.22 9.04 8.57 8.34
