Boxing day barrow 6 handicap. minus six degrees C at 11am start!

Set of at 11:22, officially finished 24 th of 209 runners based on time and 146th based on finishing position.

Sadly the handicap idea was a bit of a farce (as it always is in amateur road races), I would have had to run at a pace of a mile every 2 and a half minutes to have won!

My race time was officially 39:24 and my garmin time was 38.55. Not sure I have ever had such a large discrepency between these 2 figure before.

Moan over!

But other than that it was a fun race and my hamstring can clearly cope with running fast, although it did slow me down for most of the 5th mile.

A minute and a half outside my pb over the same course. hamstring probably cost me half a minute and the extreme cold did not help, so overall I am happy with my time.

Note to self: The soles of my racing fats have holes in, ie are not waterproof!
