Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

WHEATON ASTON 10K. I'd been absolutely dreading this, as short road races really are not my thing. Couldn't understand why I'd put in for it! And after barely running for a month, I was not looking forward to this at all. I really expected a poor race, and changed my predicted time on here from 53.30 to 56 mins. Well my tactics were hopeless as ever, I started too far back, and then just wanted to get in front of some of the other Newport ladies, and ran a 8.20 mile and then a 7.50 mile. And then I died and ran 9 min miles. I ran a couple of miles with Helen MJ, and would have been really chuffed to have kept up with her, but sadly I couldn't. Dale kept me company for the last half which was very welcome. Trying to run fast hurts so much! I felt sick. And my foot hurt. Nerdy Stats. 20th of 25 Newport runners. 5th of 8 Newport ladies. 51st of 105 women. 16th of 36 F35 women. 260th of 361 overall. Not too bad. Later in the day noticed quite severe bruising to foot where it has hurt for the last 2 months.
