Notes & Comments

Finished the Bluewater 10k in a new PB time. Started off slow as I as towards the back but this helped me quite a bit towards the end as I had plenty left in the tank for the end, tried to stick to a plan of starting off slow and then picking up speed which worked really well. Didn't realise how well I was going till I got to about 1.5km from the finish after 45mins. Start wasn't great, was quite crowded but kept my head and fought the temptation to push on. Managed to keep a fairly consistent pace for the first half of the race. Then managed to pick up pace throughout the second half. Was quite pleased as this was quity hilly but was able to keep my head. Felt really confident as I felt as though I could finish it in one hit after around 2.5km. When I was coming close to the finish, I thought I was either really close to a course PB (either just over or just under). Called home for them to check and didn't get back for about an hour but was stoked to find out I'd done it. Finished in 771st in chip position so finished just outside the top third but am overall very pleased with my time, especially as training was quite minimal I thought a good time would have been around 53-54 mins.
