Notes & Comments

Lakes, Ridges and Wainwrights LDWA event....and what a fabulous day!! Glorious sunshine again, resulting in a bit of mild heat-stroke today! Fantastic route, some of which we'd been on on Saturday. Rosthwaite > up through the mines > High Spy > Maiden Moor > down at Hause Gate to Low Snab Farm > up the never-ending ridge to Hindscarth > Robinson > steep drop down to High Snockrigg (great name!), down to Buttermere > around the lake > up Scarth Gap > over Haystacks and down to Honister > climb up to Dale Head > descent to Dalehead Tarn > back down through the mines.
Started off with Emma and Andy, but was feeling quite good so pushed on. After Buttermere, I stayed chatting to a walker (a very fast one!) so could have been even quicker overall. 33 mins for the climb to Dale Head....I was pleased!
Legs were tired by the end, but that's a good weekend for me considering the state of me a month ago! Got back, ate food, slumped in chair, then Emma and Andy arrived, drank tea, was about to put shoes back on and go back up the hill to meet Kirsten, when she came trotting in, still smiling! What a girl! Great weekend's training for her.
Back to the Fox for a pint, then a takeaway to finish the day nicely! :-)
