Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Jack Crawford 10k race in Bishopbriggs, re-arranged from January because of the snow and ice. Felt very cold in morning and nearly talked myself out of it but glad I decided to do it. Cycled there and back like Kirky last week - good warm up. Arrived just in time to get registered and waited until last minute to go outside because it was so cold!

Big turn out for this, a lot of familiar faces from years gone by. I've only run this once before in 2004. 6 years ago! Wow where did the time go? Today was cold and very muddy underfoot. 90% of race is on canal path. Glad I decided to wear my Innov8s (first race for them). Lots of people slipping in road shoes. It was also very windy - into headwind for first 2k and final 3.5k.

Like last week I started steadily and gradually moved through the field. Found myself wanting to sit behind people but then feeling fine when I did speed up and overtake. 5k in 22.30 so started to pick it up 2nd half and nice negative split in the end. Finally picked off a female nemesis about 8-9k and ran a strong final k.

Didn't want to push too hard with 20 miles to do tomorrow but ran well. Pleased to both beat my time from 2004 and comfortably get inside 45 minutes.
