BLACKPOOL HILTON ILLUMINATIONS 10K - My first ever 10km race was obviously a PB - but it was definitely a race of 2 halves. 1 lap course, with the wind (and rain) behind to about 4km - against until 9km - then behind again in the final km. At 7.5-8km the sea (we ran on the lower prom and the tide was in) was so rough that I was SOAKED three times. Great experince, really enjoyed the whole thing - bit unhappy at lack of pace for the final 0.5km though. Sub-45 is definitely achieveable - in calmer conditions! May still try to do it this year ....
