Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

QMR 10K - Race 2. Splits 3.45; 3.44; 3.48; 3.50; 3.44; 3.52; 3.57; 3.52; 3.51; 3.38. 5K splits = 18.52/19.12. I wasn't sure how my legs would hold up after doing the Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend. Tried rubbing Deep Heat on them to see if that would help (I think it did). Started off intentionally slower again and settled into second place. Then a chap from RRRs took the bull by the horns and took the lead. I overtook the previous leader to go into second place. After about 4K I was overtaken by another runner. The leader had made a good lead, so I just settled for getting trying my best to get a top three finish. At 5K the leader pulled out with a niggle which put me back into second again. This spurred me on to just hang on to the leader and see what happened. Going back into the wind again I could see the leader beginning to slow up and I'd found a good rhythm so I planned to overtake him just before turning out of the wind and hopefully dishearten him. That didn't work cos' he stayed right behind me right to the finish but luckily I had enough to finish strongly and just beat him by 4 seconds. My first race win!!!!
Please wait... saving your change.
