While the "fun" runners were in London, the real race was taking part in Balfron over the undulating (hilly to me) course. Started steady overtaking several runners to move into 3rd place by the turn in 17:55. Ran the mostly uphill 2nd half on my own with both the runner in front and behind disappearing from view to finish 3rd. Enjoyable, well organised but tough race, with a brutal long climb at 7k. Took my place on the podium (yes, they did actually have a podium) in front of the many paparazzi, before posing for even more photos for the sponsors and picking up my prize of £15 of Sweatshop vouchers and a voucher for a Nike running top (beats a FLM jaeket).
