Notes & Comments

Went out very pumped up and felt great for the first 3 miles. Then developed bad cramps in my shins and had to hold on - lost Becky, Peter C, Richard and Neil around now. Matt came by me like a train (he was late apparently!!) Stayed with Mike for a bit who was very helpful but eventually I couldn't stay with him. At about 7 miles started to feel much better (water station helped) and then started to make my was back up the field (I'd been overtaken by loads of runners between 3 and 7 miles). Stayed on course for close to sub 1:35 and almost made it. The spring finish at the end ruined by going on to grass. Oh well. The HR marshals were magnificent and seeing the HR flag was inspirational!
