Guildford & Godalming AC Summer Track Night 800m. It was great to catch up with Julian before and after the race. I'm disappointed with the result again, very similar splits to last week (63/71). I felt reasonably good warming up, quite loose (thanks to Julian), and not too tired/fatigued. The pace just felt too hard again. We had 2 pacers, the first was aiming for 63 and the second 65 (a nice lady called Hannah Knights, who I had a chat with after - she has run for England a few times). I managed to sandwich myself in between and ran the first lap about right (pacer went through in about 61/62), but quickly started fading on the back straight and just about managed to hold on (racing one girl down the home straight and just piping her to the line). Lovely warm up and cool down around the lake. Also had fun watching the mile races after.
