Paddock Wood Half Marathon
First of all a massive thanks to Steve "Healing Hands" McGlynn for getting me to the start line, my glutes are so much better!
Started out aiming for around 4:10 per km, everything was going well for the first 7 miles then I began to toil in the heat, missed the first sponge station and consequently suffered for an additional couple of miles but the recovery after using the sponges at mile 11 was startling. My pace picked up immediately and although I missed my target by a couple of minutes it was going to have been by considerably more.
Happy to finish on 4:18 per km and felt strangely strong at the end, hopefully my next races will be cooler??
