Basingstoke parkrun (1st)

Today I ventured to the closest parkrun to me that I've not done yet: Basingstoke.

Started off feeling pretty strong and managed a pretty consistent and fast pace until Tennis Court Hill (TCH) in the third k. Not the steepest of hills but quite a challenge and it takes quite a bit out of you. It was a little on the slippery side on the path itself too so I ran along side it to keep traction.

Picked up the pace for the 4th k again, though a little tired from the hill and didn't have any company so didn't push it too hard, especially as I knew I'd have to do TCH again. Finished strong.

Lovely two-lap course in the sunshine though can see this getting a little slippery in the wet. Had it not been for TCH, I think I could have managed another sub-17 parkrun today.

Oh yes, saw Paul Sinton-Hewitt too.
