Notes & Comments

Cardiff Indoor GP 1500m. I wasn't sure if doing this was a good idea before I even entered and in retrospect it probably wasn't a good idea. I'd been feeling tired in the week leading up the race, plus since Friday I had been feeling really run down (headache, feeling sick, sore throat and lethargic). Warmed up quite late and nearly missed the race! Didn't really warm up properly (plus felt very tired just jogging 4 laps of the track outside!). The was my first 1500m since last May when Tyler was just 3 weeks old. Went off slowish but struggled from about 200m in. Legs felt heavy and jelly like and lungs were working way too hard. I struggled to finish in what is the slowest time I have ever run for 1500m. I was breathless and coughing for ages after. Lungs were sore and I felt a lot worse than I normally would after a race. I feel like I had some sort of virus/infection as I felt very rough/no appetite for hours after. Sore throat got worse the next day too.
