Sale Sizzler #3 - 19:54 chip time - best 5K so far this year.

It took me a couple of 5K races last year before I got the time to below 20 mins. Exactly the same has happened this year, but later because of injury and the delayed start to training. I'm really pleased because I thought I might not be able to get back to last year's standard, and I was particularly apprehensive before this race, after the disaster last time out. Today I was back at my normal race weight (finally), and I'd thrown off the bad cold - training's been going well, and I'd made sure to leave 3 days between the last effort run and the race. It all paid off. I found myself running much more relaxed today, although the final mile was still really hard. The difference though is when you feel you're overtaking people as the race goes on rather than being overtaken. So let's see if I can improve again for the final Sizzler in a fortnight.
