Notes & Comments

Ashbourne 10k

It had been raining heavily from first light, so by the time we set off at 10:40am we were already soaked. However, as this was only my third 10km run this year, and as I'm only just starting to build back up after taking time out to let my heel recover, it was clear the only sensible thing to do was just run by feel.

This was aided by my Garmin throwing a wobbly - an update had reset the pace display to miles per minute, but it still beeped every km - all far too complicated to decipher in the circumstances, so I just put it to show the time, and ignored it.

All uphill out, downhill back, I kept it steady the whole time and still managed to run a 2 minute negative split!
