Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Flying Fox 10 2015

Official time 1:36:53, a new 10 mile PB by 12:56. I had studied the course before, and had divided it into 4 x 4km sections, and planned around those. The first 4km was fairly level, so I treated that as 'finding my pace'. The next 4km had a bit of descent in it, followed by 3km of flat course, so I took advantage of the downhill and then just levelled out. The third part (8k-12k) is the toughest; there's a climb of 80 metres in the first 2k, then levels out a bit, before a steep descent. I slowed down, relaxed and softened my style for the climb, which worked fine, before attacking the descent. My plan for the final 4km was 'just keep going', I thought it too ambitious to plan too much for this part. Oddly, my km splits follow the same pattern as my benchmark 10 miler from last Sunday, alternating faster/slower, but that was completely unplanned. Toyed briefly with hitting 'lap' when 16.1km came up on my watch, but decided not to, and just pushed for the end. First time I've run an event in fog too!
