Notes & Comments

Round Rotherham 50. Actually really enjoyed the day. The route is a bit dodgy in places and navigation a bit tricky but there are large portions that are genuinely pleasant. Ran the full route with Robin and Paul Johnson, none of us ever really had a bad patch and we ground it out nicely in the last 15 miles improving finishing position from 35th at checkpoint 1 to 13th at the finish. I would maybe have saved 10 minutes at the checkpoints if I'd been on my lonesome but reckon I'd have lost all of that and then some in the last 15 miles with walking breaks. I finished this pretty strong but I was glad to finish!
