Lovely Barns Green half marathon. First time running this race and I really, really enjoyed it.
It is such a lovely course, completely free of traffic, running through country roads and trails with the colours of autumn all around. The support was sparse given the location, but given the location, it was well supported.
The band at the start/finish were great, playing Boardwalk Empire style 50s jazz and we stopped for a roast and a pint of Doom Bar on the way home. Performance wise, I was happy enough. I haven't ran this distance at this pace for a long time, and given that I didn't know the course, and that it was fairly hilly, I am happy with running at 7.45/mile.
I think this race may have to be added to the list of regular halfs.
