Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

RNR stage 11, standing in for Harwich. I have no idea how I managed this off the back of a 7-mile "long" run. Was given a target pace of 9.30 - 9.40 mm and thought I'd start out at that pace and see what happened, but was fulling expecting the wheels to come off completely and that I'd have to walk quite a bit of the second half. I was toying with the idea of setting out on a run-walk strategy from the start but decided to run as far as I could. Well, it turns out that was all the way. I just tried to keep running within myself and to see if I could complete the next mile, and eventually it seemed a shame not to run to the end. One guy commented that it was "all uphill" as he went past but I really didn't notice that in the dark, though I did register a hill in mile 6 and again in mile 12 (quite a long, steeper drag). Just shows what you can do when you set your mind to it, but I'm not going to make this my routine long run length as I'm pretty sore still!
