Öpfingen Easter Half Marathon

This was intended as a PB attempt but I couldn't keep the pace unlike two weeks ago in Anglesey. I think I didn't eat enough yesterday and the time between breakfast and race start was too long. As a result, I felt a bit weak from mile 4 onwards and hungry at mile 6. The gel helped a bit but not enough - had to keep the HR lower than I wanted and survived on my ability to utilise fat as fuel at a relatively high pace. Still happy with 1:42:29 chip time and 3rd in F35. Dad had a much better day than I had and finished about 30 seconds ahead of me, left me for dead at the final hill.
