Twin Piers 10k race

First time ever for me to run this race. Usually it's earlier in January when I'm still at home. Well organised, the bus transport to the start went well and the race started on time on the promenade in Llandudno, up the Little Orme where I had to let a lot of people pass, down Penrhyn Bay where I caught up with them and then along the Marine Drive through Rhos on Sea to Colwyn Bay. From Rhos on Sea onwards we had head wind which made the final 3 km really hard. I was struggling but the other runners even more - i managed to overtake about a dozen there. This is the second fastest 10k I've ever run. The top 3 are now Cheshire 10k 2014 in 45:09, Twin Piers 2016 46:47 and Caerphilly 10k 2014 in 46:53. I haven't run that fast since June 2014! Very happy with the race and as an added bonus I got a free functional t-shirt - the sponsor had provided a box full of women's S and because the organisers knew me, they gave me one :D freebies are always great!
