OMG, what can I say apart from it was an event of two halves. The first half marathon loop was fast, intense and extream trails. Felt great throughout, running well at a good pace. Then we looped back through the finish area for the second half marathon loop. I stopped at 14miles to remove some stonage from the shoes and a wave of sickness overwelmed me. Never recovered after that and ran pretty much the next 12 miles in a walk/jog mode until I had to force Hughy out at 24 miles. Managed to jog on down the hillside and crossed the finish line in just over 5hrs. Pleased with my overall GRITT but never felt so poorly during a marathon. "live to run another day"
