Another good BM weekend! Congrats To All ( Gingerwand, PL2K and Mizzle )on fantastic Marathon performances.
(sorry again HH not present , but hopefully MK will be great! ) Ran the BM10k with HJ. Amazingly Breakfast was a much more enjoyable affair than last years - with its pre marathon thoughts! Set off early from Jurys Inn (7:30) with Gingerwand who was keen to get to the Marathon start in good time and just about managed it with 90mins spare! But its all about preparation and it paid off - with a much better starting place for him than last year. We left him to join the somewhat smaller hoards doing the 10k to joint the start line and listen to the organiser introduce Jo Pavey ( starter) with the phrase " SO its only a 10k Jo..... - much derision greeted him! Course was pretty straightforward and well supported despite the early start. Nice to finish on Madeira Drive, at same place as Marathon. Nice Medal and chocolate bars etc, . Then off back to hotel for shower. One couple,as we walked past, were highly impressed that we had finished the "Marathon" so early...... just smiled and reassured them it was,as the organisers hinted, "ONLY a 10k!" Then off down to spectate, and watch the hard workers in action along with Lollepop, KH and friends, Lorraine and Lorna.
Brighton as a spectator is superb, the looping course means regular views , the App allows race tracking of individuals to make it easier to try and spot everyone too. Great time.
