Winter Poppyline - and something of an experiment in extreme over-tapering given lack of training mileage recently. Was worried whether my calf was going to behave, and how soon the lack of training would bite me in the bum.
Calf niggled a bit after about 10 miles, but never really hurt, and by about 20 I had largely forgotten about it (or other things were starting to hurt more...)
Ran out of glycogen at about 15 miles, as running suddenly got much harder after that. Through 26 miles in 4'15 (and stopped for some macaroni cheese on toast because it would have been rude not to). More snackage at the various other checkpoints, but managed to keep everything down this time. Through 35 miles in 6 hours (just before another longish food stop) and to the finish in 9'15 - just before it got dark enough to need to head torch. Lots of walking in there, but was still able to run reasonably strongly at the end. So all things considered, I'm fairly happy with that!
Very well organised event - helpers friendly and efficient, great food, and the route instructions were spot-on.

well done - you don't mention any hailstorms, I hope that means you avaoided them!
Hailstorms? Didn't notice anything falling from the sky. A cold biting wind sometimes - but quite sunny for much of it.
Don't know how you do it? The secret is clearly not to overtrain!
Well done mr J. Great effort !
