A pretty decent run out at Billericay 10k. The walk break just after 7km's was because I had a stitch I couldn't shift.
Went out looking for around 4:30 km's but if my body just fell into 4:45-4:50 that was all good to. I really wasn't sure what shape I was in.
45minutes was ambitious but 47:30 and 4:45km's had a nice ring to it and I felt that was an achievable target. It felt a long way away at 7.5km in as I struggled through km's 8 and 9.
I somehow found some strength in the final km and it is a long flat finish which I really like so got my head down and managed to take over a few at the death and squeeze under 47:30.
The rest of the course was very bumpy, I have now run this 4 times I think, but my memory of the event must be too traumatic and so I forget after each running of it, just how hilly it is. As well as the two big climbs early on, there are at least 3 more decent inclines before the finish.
Thankfully the weather stayed fair if a little windy, but much kinder than in some previous runnings of this race. All in all a pleasing result and the start of the climb to April 2015 and the Marathon.
Also on strava they give you a suffering score based on your heart rate and I was extreme with 93% of the time spent at threshold and 4% of the time going anaerobic. Which is what you expect for a 10km but fun to see none the less.

Nice run Si. I would have thought that is not a bad performance given the hilly course, the marathon last weekend and the difficulties with training because of injuries. I would say it's a good finish to the year (of racing) and looking forward to seeing how you go with training through to the marathon in April.
