Notes & Comments

Lichfield 10K

Set off slightly too quickly - hard not in a race with a downhill start - though I soon settled into a rhythm. I was too fast at halfway - 25:28 - followed up with 27:15 for the second half. I ran hard all the way and am pleased with my splits and that I'm predicted to run sub 2-hours in the half next month, which would be marvellous. I certainly felt I could have maintained that pace for a while longer.

Could have pushed a bit harder, but I don't think I could have got under 52 minutes, even if I'd given every last ounce and I would have always settled for 52 minutes at the start or at any point on the course. Genuinely delighted & lovely fluorescent running top too!

Now I need to break 25 minuted for 10K and of course look at increasing my distance and keeping that pace, then introduce some more speed work.
