South Coast Sprint Triathlon

TW 750m sea swim, 20km bike, 5km run....first time for a sea swim! I went down yesterday, hoping for good news on the swim, but initially disappointed by it being cancelled. But when I saw the sea, thank god it was cancelled...there was no way I would have swum in that! In the end I actually really enjoyed the duathlon...I'm a much better runner than swimmer, so it suited me. I did the sprint, and finished up with 1.13.27...and a reasonably high finish in my wave (30-39) I think (maybe top15 or so). I took it steady on the first run leg, then picked people off on the bike and the run...I was only passed by 1 person on the bike, and no-one on the second run, so was very pleased with that. The wind was pretty strong on the bike and the PX aero frame was not helping me stay in a straight line. It really peed down on the run, but it helped to keep cool. Overall enjoyed it and pleased with my performance..likely to be back to try the sea swim. Good luck to those who race today and thanks to marshall etc yesterday. Cheers TW
