Marigold No-one seemed to want to take the lead so I ended up leading from the start which is a bit of a new thing for me. Was happy to see a chap take on the job from about 1/2 mile in and so just tucked in behind him for the first lap. (Didn't actually know where I was going so it helped!). Felt the pace dropping close to the end of the first lap so took on the lead again and kept the pace going at around 5:15 miles. Just as I was getting thoughts in my head around 1/2 way round the second lap that this might be my first ever win, I heard someone very quickly making up ground behind me. As he came along side I realised it was this chap, http://www.athleticsdata.com/athletes/profile.aspx?athleteid=11741 from Poole Runners who was out for a warm-up jog. He proceeded to toy with me for the rest of the race letting me take the lead and then cruising back past when he fancied. I almost managed to surprise him at the end making up a 10m gap when he wasn't expecting it but ended up about an inch behind him both of us around 18:28. The very pleasant lady who was taking down the offical finish positions actually had to ask us who won!
