mikep This was a well organised event in which 166, mainly club, runners took part.
The start was close by the event head quarters; a social club which provided parking, changing rooms and toilets.
The course was two laps around an industrial estate and a long stretch along a blustery sea wall. The location ensured there was little or no traffic. The mile markers were clearly visible and marshals at every corner made sure no wrong turns were taken.
This is a flat course with only a slight incline up to the sea wall. On a less windy day I would think is a good PB course.
With so many good club runners I was able to run along side a number of guys at my target pace of 7:30 miles. This was my first 5 mile and I was pleased with my time of 37:25 – much better than last week’s 10k in Lincoln.
The entry fee was a low £5.00 which included a t-shirt and a mug (for finishing in the top 150!).
Highly recommend event.
